Payvol tools

Four browser tools for Canton payment requests. Two of them need no wallet at all.

A Payvol request is a payment someone is asking for, written down in a form any wallet can read: a canton: URI, canonical JSON and a digest over it. These four tools build one, check one, pay one, and match what arrived against what was asked for. Everything on this page runs in your own browser.

Requests follow profile 0.1, pinned by 62 conformance vectors; the 0.2-draft profile carries 86 more and is not frozen. Where a wallet is involved, the app asks for the DevNet network. No wallet we support reports the network it actually joined, so that is what was requested rather than confirmed.

  • Request

Describe a payment you want to receive and watch it become a canton: URI, canonical JSON, a digest and a QR code.

No wallet needed. No wallet, and no server. The artifact exists as soon as it is described, and every value on the screen is computed in your own browser.

  • Pay

Paste a request and see exactly what signing it would authorise, before any wallet is asked for anything.

Wallet required. Reading the request needs no wallet. Actually paying it does: the transfer is signed in your wallet, and this page never holds a key.

  • Verify

Check a request line by line against the profile, with each verdict naming the rule and the committed conformance vector behind it.

No wallet needed. No wallet. Every verdict comes from @payvol/core running in your browser, so the page can never form an opinion the package did not.

    Profile 0.1 and 0.2-draft

  • Match

Match payments that arrived against the requests that asked for them, read from your own view of the ledger.

Wallet required. A wallet is required, because the ledger read happens through it. Without one the page explains what it would do and shows nothing that looks like a result.

Where to start

If you are asking to be paid, start at Request. If someone sent you a request and you want to know what it says before trusting it, start at Verify. Neither asks for a wallet.

The packages behind these tools are published on npm and run in Node and the browser: see the Quickstart for installing them, or the documentation for what is written so far.
